Unity Is Strength

Once there was an old farmer in a certain village he had four sons. They were very fond of quarrelling and used to quarrel among themselves. One day the farmer told his sons to bring some sticks and tie them bundle. He told them to break the bundle. They tried but they couldn't break the bundle. Each of sons told his father that it was quite impossible to break it because the bundle was very strong. The farmer was an intelligent and experienced man. He untied the bundle. He then gave stick to each of them and asked them to break it. This time each of son could easily break the stick.

The sons got curious to know that the reason of those activities they said to their father, "Why have you made us do this jobs? What good will come of it?"

He explained to them that when was impossible for them to break it sticks. But when the sticks were made separate from one another, it was very easy to break them. The sons realized their father's activity.

Through the fact, the farmer wanted to teach his sons that they were like the sticks. When they would be strongly untied (tied), nobody could harm them. So, They should always remain untied as the proverb goes, "Unity is Strength."
